USPHL Premier 2023-24 West Region Players Of The Week

Northwest Division 

Forward: Trevor Loucks, Seattle Totems 

Loucks (‘03/Marysville, Wash.) put together a 3-4-7 line in the Totems’ three-game sweep of the Bellingham Blazers, giving him 56 points in 40 games. This is part of an overall 13-game, 21-point scoring streak he’s carried since the start of 2024. He’s up to 92 points in 90 games for his Premier career, which began in 2021-22. 

Defense: Filip Lezzani, Vernal Oilers 

The Oilers didn’t come out of their series with Fresno with a win, Lezzani (‘04/Puchov, Slovakia) was still extremely productive for his team. Along with putting up four assists, he led the team in ice time per game (27:14) and his +3 was second on the Oilers. His four hits and six blocked shots tied for the team lead as well, and he improved his point total to 44 points in 41 games for this, his second Oilers season. 

Goaltender: Carsten Shrimpton, Seattle Totems

Shrimpton (‘03/West Vancouver, B.C.) stopped all 26 shots he faced on Feb. 17 to get a 4-0 victory against the Bellingham Blazers. With that win, Shrimpton improved to 9-4-0-0 with a .910 save percentage. For his three-year Premier career, he is 11-8-0-0. 

Pacific Division
Forward: Noak Persson, Fresno Monsters

All-time leading scorer, all-time single season scoring record holder, all-time goals record holder. When the dust settles on the regular season, Persson will have long since left his stamp on the USPHL Premier. Most recently, he rattled off another 3-4-7 during the Monsters’ three-game sweep of the Northwest Division-leading Vernal Oilers. He is up to 147 points in 37 games this season, and all-time record totals of 126 goals and 240 points in 64 career Premier games. 

Defense: Tim Gradin, San Diego Sabers 

Gradin (‘04/Sweden) is in his first season in North America and he’s been a great addition for the Sabers since joining in late November. Gradin skated an average of 28:47 per game to lead the Sabers in their series against the Ontario Jr. Reign, during which he scored a goal and added three assists for four points. 

Goaltender: Devin Degenstein, Fresno Monsters

Degenstein (‘05/Wetaskiwin, Alb.) was in net for all three Fresno wins over the Vernal Oilers, and he came away with 73 saves on 77 shots. This included a nine-round shootout and an overtime. His save percentage for the weekend was a .924, and the three wins pushed his season record to 15-2-0-0.
