Pacific Division

Forward: Rhys Doyle, Ontario Jr. Reign

Doyle (‘04/Grand Prairie, Alb.) put up the game-winning shorthanded goal against Bakersfield in a close back-and-forth battle. Doyle has been a great find as a first-year Reign player, with 68 points in 44 games. In the game, he led the Jr. Reign with 21:55 of ice time, a plus-minus of +3 and also led with 15 faceoff wins.

Defense: Nicholas Modlin, Bakersfield Roughnecks

The second-year Roughnecks blueliner Modlin (‘04/Phoenix, Ariz.) was big on all fronts for the Roughnecks, who took a win and two losses between Feb. 9-11. In the end, however, Modlin came out with a plus-minus of +4 (leading the team’s defensemen) and his eight blocked shots led all Roughnecks over the course of the three games. Modlin also scored a goal and added three assists for four points. He was thus able to improve on the 22 points he scored last year by putting up 26 points in 42 games this year.

Goaltender: Peter Burke, Fresno Monsters

Burke was in net for all three games of the Monsters’ series against the Long Beach Shredders and he stopped 38 of 39, including two shutouts. Burke, who joined in November, is 7-0 with a .943 save percentage for the Monsters.

Northwest Division

Forward: Rodion Gornostaev, Vernal OIlers

In a Vernal sweep of the Bellingham Blazers, the Oilers’ Gornostaev (‘05/Kazan, Russia) sent home two goals and added seven assists for nine points for the three-game series. He also tied for the lead among forwards in plus-minus at +5. He has 34 points in 38 games on the season.

Defense: Filip Lezzani, Vernal Oilers

Lezzani (‘04/Puchov, Slovakia) was another key cog to the Oilers’ three-game set of victories against the Blazers last week. After putting up two goals and four assists for six points, he now has 43 points in 40 games. For his career, he’s put up 77 points in 81 games.

Goaltender: Camden Widgington, Seattle Totems

Widgington (‘04/Montreal, Que.) was crucial in helping the Totems to a Feb. 9 victory against the Rogue Valley Royals, turning away 32 of the 33 shots he faced. Including a Feb. 16 win over Bellingham, Widgington now has an active five-game winning streak during which he’s posted two shutouts. His season numbers were boosted to 12-4-1-0 with a .932 save percentage.
