USPHL Premier 2023-24 West Region Players Of The Week

Week of Sept. 26-Oct. 3, 2023

 

Pacific Division 

Forward: Francois-Xavier Marois, Bakersfield Roughnecks

In a three-game sweep for the Roughnecks, Marois (‘03/St-Lin, Que.) had a huge weekend in a sweep against the Rogue Valley Royals. He registered three points in each of the three wins, with an 0-3-3 line the first night and 1-2-3 the next two. 

 

Defense: Ian Flick, Long Beach Shredders

The second-year Shredder defenseman, an ‘03 from Lakewood, Calif., had a great weekend with a three-game sweep of the San Diego Sabers. Flick put up two goals and four assists for six points. He registered at least one goal in each game and two in Game 3, and an assist in each of the last two games. 

 

Goaltender: Connor Dumesnil, Bakersfield Roughnecks

Dumesnil (‘04/Phoenix, Ariz.) stopped 67 of 68 shots in his two starts against the Sabers, with a 33-save performance on 34 shots in Game 1 and a 34-save shutout in Game 3. He sports a .985 save percentage and a 0.50 GAA. 

 

Northwest Division 

Forward: Seungpyo Cho, Vernal Oilers

The Oilers trip to the Pacific Northwest worked out well, as they went 2-0-1, especially against Bellingham (two wins). The second-year Oilers veteran Cho (‘04/Seoul, South Korea) was key to all of the victories, scoring two in the first victory against Bellingham and adding two assists in their second win. He also had a goal in the overtime loss to Seattle, totaling a 3-2-5 line for the three-day weekend. 

 

Defense: Jakub Bulik, Vernal Oilers

Another Oilers veteran, this ‘04 from Trencin, Slovakia, had the game-winning goal and an assist on Friday against Bellingham, and strung together assists in each of the next two games for a 1-3-4 start to his second Premier season. 

 

Goaltender: Carsten Shrimpton, Seattle Totems

A third-year USPHL Premier veteran, Shrimpton (‘03/West Vancouver, B.C.) has started out 2-0, with his second win coming against Vernal in overtime. He stopped 30 of 33 saves and currently stands with a 2.31 GAA and .909 save percentage.
