USPHL Premier Players Of The Month – November 2022: Midwest East Division

(Summaries by Miles Regan)

Forwards

Noah Maine, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Second Player of the Month selection for the ‘02 centerman from Knoxville, Tenn. Maine racked up 11 points (7-4–11) over eight games during a very successful November for Fort Wayne. The second-year USPHLer’s hat trick on Nov. 12 helped the Spacemen secure a huge victory over the Great Lakes Division-leading Toledo Cherokee. Don’t let the converted blueliner’s gaudy offensive stats fool you: Maine still defends well. His 14 blocked shots rank second among all Midwest East forwards.

Kyle Remo, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Remo helped lead the Spacemen to the top of Midwest East standings in November, scoring 10 points (7-3–10) over eight games. The ‘02 winger from Fanwood, N.J., recorded multiple points in half of Fort Wayne’s November matchups. A pair of goals in a 4-3 overtime victory over Steele County and a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over Metro Jets stand out. Remo’s veteran presence has helped Fort Wayne reach their full potential. FWS won six of their eight November games, and the third-year Spacemen averaged 1.25 points per game during the month. Remo and teammate Noah Maine, mentioned above, both finished November with a +8 rating.

Jayden Tkaczuk, Motor City Gamblers

Tkaczuk, a three-year Premier veteran, was a beast in the middle of the ice for Motor City this month. The Channahon, Ill., native skated in nine games and recorded 13 points on six goals and seven assists. He recorded a goal and four assists during a big Gambler victory over Decatur on 11/13, and also had multiple points against Battle Creek on Nov. 6. Tkaczuk averaged 1.44 points per game and had a +9 rating in November.  He dominated the faceoff dot too. The ‘02 centerman was successful in 49 of 81 draws taken, good for a 60.5 win percentage. Tkaczuk has played for three different organizations during his career, but looks best in Gambler black and orange. Motor City has come back to life after a couple down years, and Tkaczuk’s experience has been a big reason why.

Defensemen

Jake Mullins, Motor City Gamblers

It was an unreal month for the ‘03 blueliner out of Clawson, Mich. Mullins scored 15 points (7-8–15) over nine November games. The second year USPHLer has six multi-point games under his belt already this season, including a three-point effort (2-1–3) against the Minnesota Moose at the USPHL Detroit Showcase on Nov. 21. Mullins, who previously skated with the former Detroit Fighting Irish, used his Midwest East experience to help guide Motor City to 3-1-0-1 record against division foes during the month. His +13 rating was the best of any MWE skater, and he’s currently tied for second among all Premier defenseman in points with 30.

Aidan Canady, Motor City Gamblers

Second Player of the Month selection for Premier’s highest-scoring defenseman. The Schaumburg, Ill., product brought his season total to 35 points by recording four goals and 19 points during the month of November. The ‘02’s 2.11 points per game were best in the division among all skaters, and he scored multiple points in five of Motor City’s nine November games. Canady’s +12 rating trails only that of Jake Mullins. The two are contending for the best defensive pair in all of the Premier.

Goaltender

Andrew Parmentier, Metro Jets Development Program

The MJDP goaltending unit is one of the deepest in the league. Fellow Jet Taylor White got the nod in this spot last month but this time it’s Andrew Parmentier, an ‘04 rookie from Chesterfield Township, Mich. Parmentier saved 111 of 120 shots faced over four games in November. His November .925 save percentage was the best among all qualified Midwest East goaltenders, and his 2.50 GAA also ranks near the top of the division. Parmentier recorded his second #ShutoutShoutout of the year against Fort Wayne on Nov. 6. He stopped all 28 Spacemen shots faced, and the 1-0 victory put MJDP on top of the division at the time. He also recorded a big win on Nov. 21 against Isanti,  stopping 22 of the Midwest West-leading Outlaws’ 24 shots in the 4-2 MJDP win.
