Tampa Bay Juniors 3, Bold City Battalion 2 (2OT)
It’s all over in Wesley Chapel, Fla.! The Tampa Bay Juniors won in double overtime to advance to the USPHL Nationals. This instant classic saw Aki Jokela score the Double-OT winner at the 5:25 mark of the second extra session. Along with Jokela, Jason Johnson and Dawson Osborn also scored during the game, and Savva Serdiuk registered 36 saves on 38 shots. For Bold City, Evan Stringer made 42 saves on 45 shots. The Juniors’ Premier and Elite teams will both kick off their Nationals run in Wayne, N.J., on March 20.
Chicago Crush 4, Metro Jets Development Program 2
The Crush were 4-2 winners in Monday’s game which also gave them a 2-0 series victory in their #USPHLPremier Midwest Division series against the Metro Jets Development Program. Jason Gongol scored twice, Mac King posted two assists and Aidan Wysoglad stopped 33 of 35 shots in net for Chicago. Ethan Carlone made 25 saves on 28 shots for the MJDP. The Crush will next face the Fort Wayne Spacemen for the Midwest Division title and a #USPHLNationals berth.
