USPHL Premier Atlantic Division Players Of The Month: February 2025

 

Forwards: 

Serres Sadler, Hershey Cubs 

Sadler (06/Canmore, Alb.) was a goal-scoring magician for the Cubs, posting 10 goals and adding seven assists for 17 points in February. He finished his season with 37 points in 37 games. 

 

Viktor Wardas, Rockets Hockey Club 

Wardas (‘07/Ceske Budejovice, Czechia) played in five Premier games during a season that has seen him split time between the Premier and NCDC Rockets teams. In his Premier tenure, he has scored 15 points in nine games, and he has two assists in 10 NCDC games. 

 

Bates Ling, Elmira Impact 

A huge late season addition for Elmira, Ling (’04/Columbus, Ohio) came in as a four-year junior veteran from the Maritime Jr. A League and stormed the Atlantic over four games with three goals and 10 assists for 13 points, an average of 3.25 points per game. 

 

Forward Honorable Mention: Michael Bottrell, Elmira Impact 

 

Defense: 

Michael Bonino, Mercer Chiefs

Bonino (‘06/Atlantic Beach, N.Y.) was a strong force for the Chiefs, even before they went on to win their first playoff series. He put up a 1-7-8 line in February to finish the regular season. Bonino finished his season with 29 points in 43 games. 

 

Brandon Jung, Elmira Impact 

Jung (‘04/Ann Arbor, Mich.) played in eight regular season games to close the regular season and was magnificent with a line of 3-10-13 in eight games. The USPHL All-Star Selection finished with 47 points in 41 games. 

 

Defense Honorable Mention: Jack Kopfstein, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

 

Goaltender: A.J. Golden, West Chester Wolves

Golden (‘04/Medford, N.J.) came out of four games in February with zero losses and only three total goals against – and never more than one in a game. The two-year Premier veteran stopped 77 of 80 shots, and posted a 26-save shutout against Brooklyn in his final regular season junior game. He also stopped nine of 10 shots in a Feb. 19 relief appearance. He closes his career with a record of 7-7-1-2. 

 

Goaltender Honorable Mention: Teddy Ecker, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
