Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 4, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 2

Knights Win Series 2-0

Ryan Wead scored the Knights’ GWG in the first period and he also added an assist, and Abraham Palma also registered up a 1-1-2 line. Gusts Valantis was huge in net with 40 saves on 42 shots. Connecticut’s Teddy Ecker logged another strong goaltending performance for CJR with 39 saves on 42 shots.

 

Universel Sherbrooke 8, Kingston Wranglers 1 

Sherbrooke Leads Series 1-0 

Universel Sherbrooke won 8-1 for a hot start to their 3v6 series against the Kingston Wranglers in both teams’ first playoff games in the league. Shawn Laperriere led the way for Sherbrooke with two goals and one assist. Six other players registered multiple point efforts. Carlo Giordani made 32 saves on 33 shots.

 

South Shore Kings 8, Utica Jr. Comets 2

South Shore Wins Series 2-1

Damian Kostadina scored two goals, Payton Kender had a goal and two assists, and four additional players also scored multiple points for the Kings. Goaltender Matthew Dore made 34 saves on 36 shots for the win.

 

Rockets Hockey Club 2, West Chester Wolves 1

Rockets Lead Series 1-0 

The close game saw the Wolves’ Yianni Tsatsoulis kick off the scoring just 38 seconds in, but the Rockets’ Matthew Kymer and Ryan Hilbert scored unanswered goals for the RHC. Timothy Miller stopped 36 of 37 shots in the win.

 

Cincinnati Cyclones 3, Red River Spartans 2 (OT)

Cyclones Win Series 2-0 

The Cyclones have earned their first series victory after defeating the Red River Spartans 3-2 in overtime for a two-game series sweep. Hank Davis scored the #OTGWG that helped the Cyclones come all the way back from a 2-0 deficit to win the game and series! Both goalies were spectacular as the Cyclones’ Nicholas Wah stopped 62 of 64 shots and the Spartans’ Andrew Young made 61 saves on 64 shots.

 

Columbus Mavericks 4, Battle Creek Kernels 2

Series Tied 1-1

Giovanni Valentine scored a goal and added two assists for the Mavericks, and Thomas Eggleston registered a goal and an assist. Brady Gedman scored the GWG. Lukas Kamenicky got the win in net with 34 saves on 36 shots, and Galvin Reagan was strong again for Battle Creek in making 55 saves on 59 shots.

 

Northern Cyclones 3, Worcester Railers JHC 2

Cyclones Lead Series 1-0 

Klas Jonsson scored the GWG just 32 seconds into the third period. Taylor Casey had a goal and an assist, and Justin Scarbrough had two assists. Cameron Prodin stopped 19 of 21 shots, while Worcester’s Matthew Pimentel was impressive with 53 saves on 56 shots.

 

Springfield Pics 8, Boston Junior Bruins 2

Pics Lead Series 1-0 

Highlighting the victory was a hat trick by Maverick Labonte, while Adam Botlo scored a goal and three assists and Justin Hooper registered three assists. Troy Huber made 36 saves on 38 shots in the win.

 

Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 3, Steele County Blades 0 

Riverkings Lead Series 1-0 

Mikhail Aylin scored the first and game-winning goal, while in net, Dominic Hite stopped all 17 shots he faced. Steele County’s goaltender James Hunt was strong for his team with 43 saves on 46 shots.

 

Minnesota Squatch 7, Isanti Outlaws 1

Squatch Lead Series 1-0

Sergey Kolesov scored two goals and added one assist, while five other players also had multiple points in a big offensive showing. Anyon Bennett made 26 saves on 27 shots in the win.

 

Northwest Express 4, Minnesota Blue Ox 1

Express Lead Series 1-0 

For the Express, Otis Berge scored twice, Preston Lundbohm had a goal and two assists, and in net, Ryan Freshwater made 22 saves on 23 shots to get the victory.

 

Seattle Totems 3, Bellingham Blazers 1

Totems Lead Series 1-0 

Kieran Maloney scored twice for the Totems and Aatu Suontakanen put up a goal and an assist. Cole Fennema stopped 17 of 18 shots. Bellingham’s Emmett Dixon turned away 53 of 56 shots.

 

Vernal Oilers 18, Iron County Yeti 1 

Oilers Lead Series 1-0 

Fresh off of their historic 44-0 regular season, the Oilers came away with a decisive victory against the first-year Iron County Yeti in their opening playoff game of the 2025 postseason. Sami Kallionkieli led the Oilers with a hat trick and an assist.
