The Kings scored three unanswered second period goals to win 3-1. Second-year King Maxwell Fleming’s first playoff goal was the GWG and A.J. Prioli assisted on all three goals. In net, the Kings’ Matthew Dore stopped 46 of 47 shots. On the other end, the Utica Jr. Comets’ Derek Sparks was also strong with 49 saves on 52 shots.

For WBS on Thursday, Ilya Baldin scored the GWG and had a 1-1-2 line, while Timofei Korober and Leonardo Vona also had a goal and an assist apiece. Gusts Valantis stopped 35 of 37 shots on goal for the win, and CJR’s Teddy Ecker was also impressive with 39 saves on 43 shots.

Somang put up a good challenge with a 1-0 lead and a close 3-2 deficit before Universel pulled away. Thomas St-Louis scored two goals, and Justin Deschenes put up a 1-2-3 line to help lead Universel. In net, Marcus Gomes stopped 19 of 21 shots for the win.

The Kernels’ Brayden Lewis scored the first two goals, Colton Place had the GWG and Nate Fricke registered two assists for the Kernels. Galvin Reagan made an amazing 68 saves on 70 shots to get Battle Creek the win.
