Southeast Division
Forward: Wyatt Teubert, Hampton Roads Whalers
Teubert (‘04/ Sask.) registered three goals and seven assists for 10 points in just two games against Potomac, marking his 100th game in a Whalers jersey on Dec. 7 with a 1-6-7 line. He now has 43 points in 24 games this year and 118 points in 101 regular season contests in his career. Teubert’s 118 points has him at seventh all-time in Whalers history.
Defense: Thor Martin, Hampton Roads Whalers
The second-year Whaler Martin (‘04/Lancaster, Pa.) posted a game-winning goal with his first goal of the season and added two assists in the Whalers’ 10-7 victory against their Virginia in-state rivals the Potomac Patriots. He has seven points in 24 games this season.
Goaltender: Michael Foglia, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
The two-year veteran Foglia (‘04/Grand Island, N.Y.) registered his first USPHL victory on Dec. 8, turning away 44 of 45 shots put on him by the Charlotte Rush. Since joining from two years in the NA3HL, Foglia is now 1-1-0-1 with a .951 save percentage.
Florida Division
Forward: Jason Johnson, Tampa Bay Juniors
Johnson (‘06/Minnetonka, Minn.) scored four goals for a second time this season, and he also added 1-3-4 in his next two games during a busy three-game stretch between Dec. 6-8. Overall, it was a stretch of eight points that pushed him to 25 points in his first 18 USPHL Premier games.
Defense: Jacob Ronnqvist, Tampa Bay Juniors
Ronnqvist (‘05/Kvevlax, Finland) was similarly on fire with seven points in three games to nearly match his teammate Johnson, putting up a 2-5-7 line, including a 2-2-4 line on Dec. 8 for his first two-goal game. Ronnqvist has improved to 18 points in 19 games.
Goaltender: Richard Popson, Florida Jr. Blades
Popson (‘05/Bridgewater, Mass.), a first-year junior player, stepped up for his team and turned away 33 saves on 35 shots to help the Jr. Blades defeat the Atlanta MadHatters, helping him to a .931 save percentage on the season.
