USPHL Premier Players Of The Week: Pacific, Northwest and Midwest Divisions

Games of Nov. 26-Dec. 2

 

Pacific Division 

Forward: Denver Craig, Ontario Jr. Reign

Craig (‘04/Carp, Ont.) made it up to 20 goals in very quick time, starting before Thanksgiving with seven. He added seven goals since the holiday, and also tacked on five assists. He had 49 points in 16 entering this weekend’s games.  

 

Defense: Sean Chernyak, Ontario Jr. Reign

Chernyak (‘08/Woodbridge, Ont.) had his best run of points of the season, registering a 1-5-6 line over the past three games coming out of November. The first-year Jr. Reign has nine points in 20 games. 

 

Goaltender: Ryan Hicks, Ontario Jr Reign

To close a month that saw Hicks (‘05/Weyburn, Sask.) earn Pacific Goaltender Of The Month honors, he stopped 25 of 27 shots against the Long Beach Bombers on Nov. 29, which helped him go 3-1 since joining the Jr. Reign earlier in the month. 

 

Northwest Division 

Forward: Kieran Maloney, Seattle Totems 

The Totems only played in one game between Thanksgiving and the start of December, but they made it count. Seattle defeated their traditional rivals the Bellingham Blazers and improved their winning streak to 13 games. Maloney (‘04/Kamloops, B.C.) dished out three assists, and he had six points in his first three games with Seattle entering the first December weekend. He has 60 points for his two-year Premier career. 

 

Defense: Gabriel Malcuit, Seattle Totems 

Malcuit (‘06/Boise, Idaho) added an assist to the Totems’ big win to extend their victory streak. A traditionally defensive defenseman, Malcuit picked up his first point and assist since Oct. 5, assisting on the opening goal in the Totems’ 7-2 victory. He has six assists in 20 games. 

 

Goaltender: Daniel Cleofe, Seattle Totems

Cleofe (‘04/Seattle, Wash.) extended his personal winning streak to five games, with 25 saves on 27 shots. He has improved to 23-11-1-1 in his three-year career as a Totem. 

 

Midwest Division 

Forward: Alexis Toussaint, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Toussaint (‘04/Varennes, Que.) bridged November and December with two big games, as the Spacemen won their third and fourth straight games in a row. He put up a 2-5-7 line and he has 12 points in four games dating back to Nov. 24. He has 124 points in 60 career games for the Spacemen. 

 

Defense: Maksym Maiuk, Fort Wayne Spacemen 

Maiuk (‘05/Lviv, Ukraine) closed off a four-game point streak on Nov. 30 against the Chicago Crush, registering four of his eight points this season over a stretch of games that began with the Spacemen’s second game at the USPHL Detroit Showcase on Nov. 23. 

 

Goaltender: Jordan Nicolucci, Fort Wayne Spacemen

Nicolucci (‘04/Montreal, Que.) stopped 32 of 34 Chicago Crush shots on Dec. 1 to begin the new month with a win and keep the Spacemen on top of the Midwest Division. He is 8-1-1-0 on the season.
