Defensemen

Logan Walz, Charlotte Rush

The second-year Premier veteran Walz (‘05/Phoenix, Ariz.) registered three goals and six assists for nine points and his all-around play was a huge reason the Rush were tied for first place in the USPHL Premier as of Nov. 1. For his two-season Premier career, he has 42 points in 62 games.

Ivan Gutierrez, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes

Gutierrez (‘05/Frisco, Texas) received attention from other teams, crediting him for helping to keep the Jr. Canes remain competitive in a division with three teams in the top 12 overall league-wide. He put up a 2-3-5 line in 10 games. Additionally, the Jr. Canes were one of just 14 USPHL Premier teams to average less than 30 shots on their goaltenders per game, and their 28.75 per game led the Southeast Division.

Defenseman Honorable Mention: Tristin McAuliffe, Charlotte Rush

Goaltender

Evan Crawford, Charlotte Rush

Crawford (‘04/Greenwich, Conn.) was outstanding with, a record of 5-1-1-1 in his first eight games of the season, which also included two shutouts, which tied for the league lead as of Nov. 1. A former USPHL Elite All-Star goaltender with the Rush in 2022-23, Crawford had a 1.59 GAA and a .946 save percentage.

Goaltender Honorable Mention: Timo Johner, Hampton Roads Whalers

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
