Forwards:
Wyatt Teubert, Hampton Roads Whalers
Teubert (‘04/White Rock, B.C.) continues to put together an amazing four-year Whalers career, as he has improved to 146 points in 117 games since 2021. January stood out particularly as he put up eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points, an average of 2.2 points per game. He wasn’t even done producing with his regular season games, as he added an assist in the USPHL Premier All-Star games in Foxboro, Mass., to close the month.
Hayden Barr, Hampton Roads Whalers
Barr (‘04/Edmonton, Alb.) joined the Whalers for his third junior season out of the KIJHL, and he’s been an amazing addition with 27 goals and 44 points in 38 games. During the month of January, he registered 11 goals and added seven assists for 18 points. This included a run of 6-6-12 in four games at the USPHL Tampa Showcase to kick off the new year.
Beau Depencier, Charlotte Rush
Depencier (‘04/Dresden, Ont.) is, like Teubert, a fourth-year Premier veteran who is just having an outstanding year and career. For his four years, he has 139 points in 147 years. His 40 points this season are his best in his two years with Charlotte and he’ll likely surpass his previous best of 41 very soon. In January he was generous with his passing, putting 11 assists along with three goals for 14 points in 10 games. He has recently committed to Manhattanville University.

Defense:
Marshall Beaker, Charlotte Rush
Keeping the four-year junior veteran theme going, Beaker (‘04/Brighton, Mich.) has had stops in the NAHL and NCDC, bringing key Tier II experience to the Rush locker room. He has 17 points in 19 games with Charlotte this season, including 10 points in 10 January games. He made the USPHL Premier All-Star games and scored the insurance goal in the Southeast/Florida team’s thrilling 5-3 victory against the New England/Atlantic team.
Ivan Gutierrez, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
Unlike others on this list, Gutierrez (‘05/Frisco, Texas) has established himself as a key contributor as a rookie junior player from the prestigious Dallas Stars Elite program. Gutierrez, another USPHL All-Stars selection, put up a 2-5-7 line in seven regular season games during January.

Goaltender:
Nate McAlpine, Hampton Roads Whalers
McAlpine (‘06/Anaconda, Mont.) stopped 105 of 108 shots he faced in going undefeated in regulation during January. He finished 2-0-1-0 and enjoyed a big 37-save shutout against MJDP at the Tampa Showcase. He also closed his month with 35 saves on 36 shots from the rival Charlotte Rush. He is 8-3-1-1 with a 2.41 GAA and a .920 save percentage this season.

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
