USPHL Premier Midwest Division Players Of The Month: February 2025

 

Forward:

Jason Gongol, Chicago Crush

Gongol (‘05/Carol Stream, Ill.) finished as the leading scorer for the Crush, coming in with 64 points in 36 games. He put up 19 of those points in 12 games in February, scoring five goals and adding 14 assists. 

 

Rocco Romita, Chicago Cougars 

Romita (‘04/Naperville, ,Ill.) scored eight goals and added eight assists for 16 points in 11 games, giving him a 1.45 points per game average. Joining in November, he was a huge piece of the Cougars’ puzzle this year, scoring 38 points in 33 games. 

 

Alexis Toussaint, Fort Wayne Spacemen 

A USPHL All-Stars Toussaint (‘04/Varennes, Que.) went out of the regular season portion of his career like a firework, sending home 10 goals and adding seven assists for 17 points in seven games, an average of 2.43 points per game. In two seasons with Fort Wayne, he registered 158 points in 82 games. 

 

Forward Honorable Mention: Ivan Khyrsa, Fort Wayne Spacemen 

 

Defense:

Aiden Middendorf, Chicago Cougars 

A second-year Cougar, Middendorf (‘05/Hudsonville, Mich.) scored four goals and eight assists for 12 points in 12 games. He finished with 17 points in 42 games overall, and for his two-year career so far, he has 19 points in 68 games. 

 

Antoine Bonin, Fort Wayne Spacemen 

Bonin (‘05/Bromont, Que.) scored four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in seven games in February, averaging two points per game. Bonin improved his points total more than three-fold year over year, from 13 points last year to 41 points in 40 games. 

 

Defense Honorable Mention: Isaac Bunk, Motor City Gamblers

 

Goaltender: Tyler Houle, Motor City Gamblers 

Houle (‘07/Warren, mich.) stopped 142 of 153 shots during the month of February for a .928 save percentage on the month. He finished with a 1-1-0-1 record last month, and closed his season with the Premier after starting the last two seasons with the Gamblers’ Elite team – USPHL Advancement In Action!
