USPHL Premier Atlantic Division Players Of The Month: January 2025

Forwards

Ilya Kornoushenko, Red Bank Generals

Kournoushenko (‘05/Tomsk, Russia) kicked off 2025 in amazing fashion with 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in just 11 games in January, averaging a division-leading 2.45 points per game. Kournoushenko’s 73 points in 37 games has him at No. 9 in the league’s scoring leaderboard. 

 

Kevin Pico, Red Bank Generals 

Pico (‘06/Perkasie, Pa.) racked up 14 goals and added 11 assists for 25 points in 11 January games, an average of 2.27 points per game, second only to teammate Kournoushenko. Pico’s first-year totals improved to 37 goals and 69 points in 38 games. Pico was also tendered by the NCDC’s West Chester Wolves in early February. 

 

Eloi Robert, Elmira Impact

Robert (‘06/Granby, Que.) was one of the top scorers at the USPHL Premier All-Star event, putting up a 1-4-5 for the Northeast/Atlantic team. During the month of games, he put up four goals and seven assists for 11 points in five games.

Defense

Brandon Jung, Elmira Impact

Jung (‘04/Ann Arbor, Mich.) registered seven assists in five regular season games for the Impact during January. He closed the month joining teammate Robert at the USPHL All-Star event, suiting up for the Northeast/Atlantic team. He scored a goal in the regional team’s opener on Monday afternoon against the Pacific/Northwest/Canada team. Overall, Jung is tied for ninth in Premier defenseman scoring with 39 points in 35 games. 

 

Jack Kopfstein, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

Kopfstein (‘05/Newport Beach, Calif.) registered a 2-8-10 line over nine games during January as the defending National Champions continued to push their way up the Atlantic standings. The fourth-year Premier veteran has 22 points this season and reached the 100-point career mark during a Jan. 27 game. He has 102 points in 146 career games. 

 

Honorable Mention: Jett Carroll, Elmira Impact

 

Goaltender: 

Elijah Wiltshire, West Chester Wolves

Wiltshire (‘05/Palm Harbor, Fla.) stopped 150 of 155 shots during his four games of action in January. He went 3-1-0-0 during that stretch and posted a .968 save percentage and 1.25 GAA for the month. Wiltshire is fourth in league save percentage at .943. 

 

Honorable Mention: Riley Gorman, Elmira Impact

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
