The National Collegiate Development Conference congratulates former Rockets Hockey Club player Blake Montgomery on being selected by the Ottawa Senators with the 117th pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
Montgomery became the 18th player to play in the NCDC and be drafted by an NHL team, which puts the NCDC ahead of five Canadian Tier II leagues (Manitoba Junior Hockey League, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and Maritime Junior “A” Hockey League, Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League and Quebec Junior Hockey League) since the 2017-18 inaugural season of the NCDC.
Montgomery skated in three games with the Rockets Hockey Club during the 2022-23 NCDC season, while also playing for Mount St. Charles Academy. He also previously played with the Skipjacks Hockey Club’s former USPHL 16U team in 2020-21. He played in a total of eight regular season and playoff games, and scored seven points that year.
During the 2021-22 season, he played for Seacoast Performance Academy’s 16U team – part of the Seacoast Spartans organization that is joining the NCDC in 2024-25.
He played in the 2023-24 season with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL, and he is committed to the University of Wisconsin for the 2025-26 season.
We wish Blake Montgomery the very best of luck in all of his hockey future!
