“It is great to be joining the Minnesota Moose staff for the 2022-23 season. I look forward to being a large part within the organization in helping with the development of the players to work with them to get them to the next level. Coach Jonasson has built a great team atmosphere and culture, which brings in high level character and student athletes that I am looking forward to adding to. This has been a program that has spent the last 5 years as a top program in the country at the USPHL Premier level and I believe our staff this season can push the team to a title.” – Ryan Theros, Associate Head Coach.

“It was extremely important to me to find another member of the staff that shares the same philosophies and values as I do, and our program does. Not only does Ryan have a winning track record everywhere he goes, he also is a coach that players respect and enjoy being on the ice with. Since the Moose have started in 2017, we have made it a point to make this not only a winning program but a destination where players will advance to the next level while loving being at the rink. Ryan will make players want to show up every day to learn and enjoy being at the rink. I had the pleasure of coaching against Ryan in the past and saying I am excited to work with him is an understatement.”- Jon Jonasson, Head Coach & GM.

Coach Theros also works for Velocity Hockey Center in Eden Prairie and Edina, MN. There he continues to train athletes at every level from youth to NHL. When the Minnesota Moose Junior Hockey Club, out of Blaine, Minn., started in 2017, the goal was to see players move on to the next level of hockey and begin the next chapter of their lives as young men and student athletes.

Since the inception of the Minnesota Moose there has been over 80 players that have gotten the opportunity to play at the next level from NCAA D1 to Tier 2 Junior Hockey.

The goal has always been to move players to the most reputable programs at whatever level suits their needs most. That depends on academics, coaches, campuses, the hockey, the balance of lifestyle etc. Once a player dons that Minnesota Moose jersey on day 1 one of training camp, they know that they will be taken care of, have an opportunity to chase a championship and have every door opened as possible to move on to Collegiate hockey (NCAA/ACHA D1) or Tier 2 Junior.

The Minnesota Moose, playing out of Blaine, Minn., have been one of the top teams in the USPHL Premier and Midwest-West for the last Five seasons since their inception in 2017, with 80+ advancements, a 186-59-10 overall record since 2017, four trips to the National Tournament and two Division Championships.
