Longtime CCHL Commissioner Abrams Joins USPHL As Senior Consultant

Abrams Has Been Commissioner Of Central Canada Hockey League For 16 Years

The United States Premier Hockey League is pleased to announce Kevin Abrams has joined its management team as a Senior Consultant.

Abrams is the longest serving Commissioner in North America at the Junior A level leading the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) since 2006.

During his 16-year tenure, Abrams was instrumental in developing the use of technology, analytics and standard operating procedures, overseeing league expansion and franchise value growth of over 500 percent in the past decade.

Providing counsel and leadership to the USPHL executive and member teams, his expertise and experience will be invaluable in particular to the NCDC as they prepare for expansion to the West in the 2023-24 season. Abrams will introduce many new features to NCDC operations, many of which he was responsible for launching for his previous experiences.

“Kevin’s vast experience working with our current partners FloSports, RinkNet, and InStat make him a valuable asset for the USPHL,” said USPHL Commissioner Bob Turow. “He also will assist us with developing new partnerships and opportunities aimed at providing our member teams and players with the best experience possible. The USPHL Executive Committee and myself felt it was necessary to hire someone that is the best in the business and we achieved this by bringing Kevin on board. Kevin will play a vital role in our continued excellence and growth.”

Abrams also served from 2016-2020 as the Chairman of the Board for the Canadian Junior Hockey League, comprising the 10 Junior A leagues from BC to the Maritimes.
His administrative and boardroom experience at the national level will be of great assistance to the USPHL as its growth as America’s Largest Junior Hockey League continues.

Prior to his tenure in the CCHL, Abrams coached, managed, owned and operated Junior A teams for 20 seasons while also coaching and managing teams at the minor professional level in America in coaching and player personnel in Canadian major junior.
