The United States Premier Hockey League joins the West Chester Wolves in mourning the passing of Matthew Gaudreau and Johnny Gaudreau on the evening of Aug. 29, 2024. The USPHL extends its deepest condolences to the Gaudreau family at this tragic time.
Matt, who had previously coached in the NCDC and USPHL Premier with former members the Philadelphia Hockey Club, and was hired by the Wolves to be an Assistant Coach at all levels. Johnny Gaudreau was a close friend to the Wolves management and coaching staff, as well. The West Chester Wolves made the following statement:
Beyond their skill on the ice, Matthew and Johnny were cherished husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, and friends. Matthew’s coaching journey touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark from the Philadelphia Rebels to the West Chester Wolves. His presence in the coaches’ office will be deeply missed.
Johnny’s career, marked by his time with the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets, showcased his talent and dedication to hockey, earning him a place in the hearts of fans and teammates alike.
