USPHL Premier All-Star Event In Review: Outstanding Hockey From All Corners of USPHL Nation

The USPHL Premier All-Star Event ran Jan. 27-28 in Foxboro, Mass., and featured four teams that together represented all 10 Premier divisions. The players hit the ice in front of several dozen college hockey scouts, and well over 200 fans in attendance at the Foxboro Sports Center. Below are just some of the top performances seen at the 2025 USPHL All-Star event.

 

Game 1: Florida/Southeast 8, Midwest/Great Lakes/North 4

Florida Eels four-year Premier veteran Anthony Zebley (’04/Estero, Fla.) scored a hat trick and added an assist to help propel the South regional team to their first of two eventual wins. The Florida Jr. Blades’ Easton Hall (’04/Fort St. John, B.C.) put up three assists, while the Atlanta MadHatters’ Drake Perham (’05/Hollywood, Md.) enjoyed a 1-2-3 line. Also representing the Florida Division, the Bold City Battalion’s Sebastian Elrod (’04/Virginia Beach, Va.) posted two assists. From the Southeast Division, the Charlotte Rush’s Levente Pakozdi (’04/Hungary) and the Hampton Roads Whalers’ Sam Pfeiffer (’04/Castle Pines, Colo.) each had a goal and an assist. The Eels’ Russ DeCoste (’05/Halifax, N.S.) made 13 saves and the Rush’s Evan Crawford (’04/Greenwich, Conn.) made eight saves for the win.

The Northwest Express’ Dylan Wolf (’04/Farmington, Minn.) put up a goal and an assist to lead the Midwest regional team, offensively.

 

Game 2: New England/Atlantic 9, Pacific/Northwest/Canada 5

The Northeast regional squad came up big, offensively, to cap Monday’s Premier action. They were led by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights’ Koi Matsudaira (’06/Kitasakugun, Japan) with three goals and one assist. The Connecticut Jr. Rangers’ Anthony Vernillo (’04/Smithtown, N.Y.) put up a 1-3-4 line and the Elmira Impact’s Eloi Robert (’06/Granby, Que.) had four assists. Both the Rockets Hockey Club’s Anthony Azzarello (’06/Virginia Beach, Va.) and the Islanders Hockey Club’s Jack Roberts (’04/Middlefield, Conn.) had two assists. The P.A.L. Jr. Islanders’ Brett LoGelfo (’04/Center Moriches, N.Y.) had a goal and an assist. In net, the South Shore Kings’ Matthew Dore (’04/Dartmouth, Mass.) stopped seven shots, including a penalty shot by the Vernal Oilers’ Roni Alanko (’05/Helsinki, Finland). He joined the Hershey Cubs’ Noah Pfab (’07/Nurnberg, Germany) to share the win.

Alanko finished with a 1-2-3 line, and Oilers teammate Kasper Pohjala (’05/Helsinki, Finland) had a goal and an assist, as did Universel Sherbrooke’s Samuel Cardinal (’06/Otterburn Park, Que.)

 

Game 3: Midwest/Great Lakes/North 8, Pacific/Northwest/Canada 5

The Midwest regional players left on Tuesday on a winning note, thanks to very strong performances across the board. The Minnesota Mullets’ Cyril Valach (’04/Moravske Budejovice, Czechia) put up a 1-3-4 line to lead offensively. The Fort Wayne Spacemen’s Alexis Toussaint (’04/Trois-Rivieres, Que.) had a three-point outing with a goal and two assists. Both the Spacemen’s Maksym Maiuk (’05/Lviv, Ukraine) and the Toledo Cherokee’s Gerdas Paulauskas (’04/Lisle, Ill.) – a veteran of 150 Premier games – scored two goals. His Cherokee teammate Aidan Gonzalez (’05/Dearborn, Mich.) and the Red River Spartans’ Brayden Goncalves (’04/Vancouver, B.C.) each had two assists. The Minnesota Squatch’s Cannon Bonifay (’04/Fort Worth, Texas) had a goal and an assist. In net, the Metro Jets’ Andrew Parmentier (’04/Chesterfield Township, Mich.) stopped 16 saves and shared in the victory with the Squatch’s Anyon Bennett (’04/Fargo, N.D.)

Alanko and Pohjala each had a goal and an assist for the Western and Canada regional team, while Lake Tahoe’s Scott McNulty (’04/Williamstown, N.J.) scored twice to help lead their squad.

 

Game 4: Southeast/Florida 5, New England/Atlantic 3

The Rush’s Evan Crawford made 19 saves and the Eels’ Russ DeCoste stopped all 13 shots he faced to give the Southeast/Florida team a 2-0 record to close the All-Stars event. Up front, the Potomac Patriots’ Yovanni Flores (’04/Los Angeles, Calif.) registered a goal and an assist, and the Jr. Blades’ Easton Hall had two assists. In net for New England, the Kings’ Matthew Dore and Hershey’s Noah Pfab were strong with 14 and 13 saves, respectively.
